We go back to the 1992 when The Maldens recorded their first album. We created a fictious label more as a joke - we liked the name Go To Your Room.
Since then, GTYR has become more established and is a part of The Other Chicken media.
Our founding principal is simple - there's a lot of great music out there underserved by mainstream media and recording companies. That stinks for us all, the music fan and artist alike because that music deserves to be heard. This is why we exist...to find talent, help it to grow, and let it loose.
We assist in the production of Indie, Americana and Alt-Folk music, from concept to finished product, and ensure that it gets professionally promoted. published and distributed.
We do not require fees for our service, rather we invest in select artists through sharing publishing rights.
We have a growing list of Artists that we know bring a lot to the table. Our goal is to continue to expand their presence and get their music heard.
The Bad Backs focus primarily on Indie original music. Brutha Cutch, AKA John McCutchen is unique to the Folk/Americana dominated music scene in northern New England.
